Metal Halide vs High Pressure Sodium

Metal Halide (MH) lighting differs from High Pressure Sodium (HPS) in that Metal Halide displays colors much more accurately. Both function very well, however High Pressure Sodium is more common in application where color rendition is less critical, like parking lots, warehouses, and street lighting. Metal Halide has become much more popular recently because people generally prefer to work and live in a white light environment.
